The Dave Oliver Memorial Fund

David Oliver, a founding board member of the newly formed nonprofit, Guidestone, passed away Saturday, July 19th, 2008. He will be greatly missed. Guidestone is now receiving donations in Dave Oliver’s honor that will be dedicated to a Distribution Center serving the Upper Arkansas River Valley. It has always been Dave’s vision that we live simply, eat locally and create community connected to the farms and farmers who grow our food. Dave’s generosity has provided an impetus for finding a new home for the Guidestone Project in the Buena Vista area of Colorado, helping the farm enterprises gain footing in the valley. These farm enterprises provide an anchor for local food production and community supported agriculture (CSA). It is Dave’s wish that a new Distribution Center be built at the Guidestone farm site and serve as a community center for distributing locally produced food. The Cottonwood Meadows development project is providing a land donation on which this structure will be located. This facility is to be dedicated to the generous spirit of Dave and Anne Oliver and their unwavering commitment toward a sustainable future. Your donations will help make this dream come true.
