
Guidestone manages three community gardens in Salida. Each garden has tools and water available onsite, and is fenced from deer.
Crestone Mesa and Sonia’s Garden:
Registration will open for Salida’s Community Gardens in the Crestone Mesa neighborhood and at Sonia’s Garden at the Touber Building on April 1st at 9am! Registration details will be posted here, in the newsletter, and on social media. The Salida Community Garden’s are a joint project of Guidestone Colorado and The City of Salida. This year’s lead coordinator is Maytal Agasi, Guidestone’s Garden Educator.
General Details:
- Each garden plot is a 4’x12′ raised bed and costs $35
- The $35 fee/ plot covers access to all needed tools, water costs, and support staff time.
- Sonia’s Garden at the Touber Building has 11 total plots and is located at 448 E. 1st St.
- Crestone Mesa Garden has 28 total plots and is located at 112 Crestone Mesa Drive.
- The City of Salida provides water and infrastructure, and all management support is provide by Guidestone Colorado.
- The growing season is typically mid-April to mid-October, based on temperatures and when water gets turned on/off.
- Garden plots can be accessed at any time, so you can garden whenever it works for your schedule.
2nd & I St. Community Garden:
- Registration is now open for renewing and new gardeners for this established, downtown community garden. Larger, 10’x20′ plots available for $90 per year. Contact Maytal, Garden Educator at m[email protected] for more information and to register for a plot.
