Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Guidestone!

Through knowledge-sharing with staff and other volunteers and working on place-based projects, Guidestone volunteers have the opportunity to develop a deeper connection to Salida, strengthen the local food economy, and grow the next generation of farmers and ranchers. Whether running the cider press at the Pumpkin Patch Festival, leading tours of the Historic Hutchinson Homestead and Learning Center, or harvesting at the Community & School Farm, volunteers provide support to our community!

To learn more about any of the opportunities below, or discuss other ways you can provide support, please email or call 719-239-0955.

Community & School Farm

Guidestone continues to practice caution in welcoming volunteers back to the Community & School Farm during the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • We ask all volunteers to take their temperature before coming to the farm, to wear a face mask, and to stay home if they are feeling sick.
  • We provide disposable nitrile gloves for harvest shifts.
  • For other farm tasks, we can offer gardening gloves that are washed after use, but we encourage volunteers to bring their own gloves if they have favorites.
  • We encourage volunteers to email Monica (Monica AT when they are planning to volunteer for all or part of a shift, so we can comply with the recommended number of people on the farm at all times.
  • We appreciate your help and your attention to these details as we work to provide our schools and community with safe, healthy food.
