We manage a professional business as an alternative to pesticides and machinery in the 21st century. We work within climate change and extreme weather events, extensive and accelerating drought, and fast-changing world events, concerns, politics and budgets.

Lani Malmberg founded and co-manages the longest running professional prescription
goat grazing operation in the US. We are not in production agriculture. We do not sell
for slaughter, so we value our animals based on their behavior, gut memory,
experience, genetics, and jobs memory. Goat Green strategically manages mob browzing
between 30 to 2,500 goats/herd, in all situations, small urban parks to expansive
rangelands, with landowners’ goals driving our management.
Goat Green works year around and has contracted with all government levels,
corporations, non-profits, Tribal Lands and private landowners/managers for land and
watershed restoration; weed, erosion, fire, flood and pest mitigation, soil regeneration,
re-seeding and oilfield reclamation in 16 western US states (including Maui) for 27
continuous years. Lani earned degrees in Environmental Restoration, Biology/Botany
and a Master’s in Weed Science from CSU after she looked beyond owning and
managing cattle ranches the first 30 years of her life.
Lani served on the Board of Directors for Beyond Pesticides (formerly National Coalition
for Mis-use of Pesticides) in Washington DC for 17 years.
Lani and her son, Donny Benz, formed a non-profit, Goatapelli Foundation,
www.goatapellifoundation.org to teach, train, mentor and support people who want to
own/manage/work in a professional browsing service business.
